Designs by Beverly, Inc. was born when the last little bird left for college and the "nest was empty". Finding myself unemployed and my husband relocated far from family and friends, I needed a new hobby. I decided to try painting. My only art course had been Art Appreciation in college. I received a "C" and gave up any illusions of a career in Art.

Older, wiser, and without fear, I picked up a brush and went in search of something to paint on. I found kitchen towels on sale and decided to try painting on fabric. After painting 100 towels, I went in search of an arts and craft show to try selling them. If they didn't sell, I could always give them as gifts and was sure the recipient would never tell me how awful they were--besides they could use them as Cleaning Cloths. Six years later, here we are, selling my designs to stores and catalogs, as well as through arts and crafts shows, which we enjoy so very much. After having reached a point that I could no longer hand paint the towels fast enough to satisfy the demand, friends convinced me to reproduce my designs.

All designs are original. Unlike other artists that reproduce their designs on canvas or paper, I reproduce mine on fabric. My designs are machine washable and colorfast, and come with care instructions. I am so blessed to be able to work with my husband (he retired and works with me), and do something I love. I get to meet wonderful people, travel, and make new friends. Thanks to my son I now have a web site.
